We’re thrifters. We’re regulars at a minimum of four local Goodwill locations and at least 80% of Elliot’s shoes have come from these outings. While we have picked up shoes ranging from gore-tex snow boots to summer slip-ons, his go-to shoes for every season have been the low-top Chuck Taylors from Converse. My kid is about to turn 2 and he’s definitely going through a picky eating phase. The one guaranteed meal he will eat is Mac & Cheese from a certain bakery chain that is pretty well established here in the Minneapolis Area. Anyways, I’ve been playing around with cheese sauce to serve at his birthday party next week. The primary goal is a nice creamy texture with a solid “Real” cheese taste that can be put directly over pasta and served immediately. The secondary goals would be something that stores well and can be used on things other than pasta. Here’s what I got.
Well…. I have a nearly 2 year old and a couple of months ago, we decided it was time to upgrade to a “big boy bed.” While the initial thought was that we could just find something simple for cheap and focus on getting him to sleep outside his cage, that plan crumbled under the realization that we would be spending over $100 for the cheapest and, by my standards, sub-par offerings from the places we looked. Pair that with the reality that he has a sister on the way and we quickly decided that that he should have a special bed that he would love and cherish through the impending game changer.
